Sri Lanka, an island in the Indian Ocean and located south of the Indian subcontinent, is also known as the Island of Serendipity. Sri Lanka lies between 5° 55' and 9° 55' north of the equator and between the eastern longitudes 79° 42' and 81° 52'. From North to South it has a maximum length of 435 km and at its widest point it measures 225 km, giving it a land area of 65,600 sq.km. This entire stretch encompasses beautiful tropical beaches, verdant vegetation, ancient monuments and a thousand delights to please all tastes.

The ceremony takes place on a special platform ‐ "Poruva", which is decorated with white or pink lotus. Lovers exchange betel leaves seven times on the tradition that marks the union of love and for seven generations.

After the couple exchanged rings, the bride and groom are treated each other with rice cooked in coconut milk, and watered with water ‐ it symbolizes the care of the rest of their lives. Sri Lankan girls' choir singing wedding songs about love, prosperity and happiness. Marriage is sealed symbolic linkage with the little finger of the bride and groom a golden thread to which the leader pours water from a silver pitcher, uttering words of prayer.

The newlyweds go out of their "poruvy" and at the same time, one of the participants of the ceremony breaks the sacred sword of coconut. Drops of coconut milk, falling on the groom and the bride is said to predict a healthy and numerous offspring. By drumming the couple lit the traditional oil lamp, the luminous flame of hope and luck and marks the beginning of a new life together. Elephant, decorated with bright colorful blanket, welcomed the couple, and, sitting on the broad back of an elephant, the couple make an exotic trip to the golden beaches. The evening ends with a romantic dinner by candlelight.

6 - DAY 6 : Bentota - Pinnawala - Dambulla

After breakfast start the Honeymoon tour in Sri Lanka.

Morning proceeds to Dambulla via Pinnawala and visit the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, which was started in 1975 to house abandoned and wounded elephants. The sanctuary covers 25 acres of lush vegetation with an approximate population of about 77 elephants (both adult and baby elephants).

After breakfast, proceed to Kandy, the laidback capital of the hill country and the historical bastion of Buddhist power. It is built around a peaceful lake and set in a picturesque bowl of hills. Today it is the center of Buddhism, Arts, Crafts and Culture.

En route, visit Dambulla, which is famous for the five cave Temples on a rock. All the 5 cave walls and ceilings are covered with Buddhist murals and there are more than 130 Buddha statues, as well as statues of Gods and Kings. Cave temple and the Spice Garden in Matale.
